This page will help you see the different aluminum extrusion options that MISUMI has and also help you select the extrusions, brackets, and hardware you might need.

Extrusion Series
Extrusion Series is the main way that MISUMI extrusions are grouped. The Series refers to the extrusion's groove shape. When selecting extrusions, brackets, and hardware, be sure to select parts from the same series. For example, while a Series 8 extrusion and a Series 8-45 extrusion both have a 10mm slot width, the groove is shaped differently. Because of this, for example, a Series 8 t-nut will NOT work in a Series 8-45 extrusion, and vice versa.
You may notice that the Series number seems closly related to the Slot Width. The reason for this is that the Series number represents the largest diameter of the mounting bolt used for the extrusion's mounting brackets. For example, a Series 5 extrusion will use a M5 bolt when mounting a bracket.
Extrusion Base Size
Base size is the minimum size that the particular extrusion is derrived from. For example, the part illustrated above is an HFS6-606030. The overall width and height of this extrusion is 60mm. But, the base size of this extrusion is 30mm as this extrusion is "made up" of three 30mm by 30mm extrusions. This also means that the distance between the two slots on a side will be 30mm.
Slot Width
The Slot Width is the width of the slot of the groove on an extrusion. Please note that extrusions with the same slot width may not have the same groove shape (Series). For example, while a Series 8 extrusion and a Series 8-45 extrusion both have a 10mm Slot Width, they do NOT have the same groove shape.

Surface Finish
You can search for extrusions and brackets based on surface treatement
Most extrusion and hardware are offered with clear anodized coating
Some can also be obtained with black anodizing, clear acrilic coat over clear anodized finish or yellow powder coating
This last option is a new MISUMI offering and we do not have cad data for these parts available
All you need to do is to remove the "Y" from the part number and you can download clear anodized version
you can use the model since all dimensions are the same, but remember to add "Y" back when ordering
Extrusions, brackets and nuts
The following slot series are available:
3 (3.4mm slot width designed for 15mm base extrusion)
5 (6mm slot width)
6 (8 mm slot width)
8 (10mm slot width designed for 40mm base extrusion)
8-45 (10mm slot width designed for 45, 50 and 60mm base extrusion)
Special (In some cases extrusions have two slot styles or an unusual design)
Please, remember to pay special attention to extrusions and brackets with 8 and 8-45 series
8-45 series brackets will only work with 8-45 series extrusions
Most 8 series brackets will also work with only 8 series extrusions with some exceptions
