Our recent <strong>Build. Brag. Win.<\/strong> Contest for the Do-It-Yourselfers was a great hit! We received almost 30 submissions from communities such as <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fabric8tor.com\/\">www.Fabric8r.com<\/a> , <a href=\"http:\/\/www.reddit.com\/\">www.Reddit.com<\/a> , <a href=\"www.Reprap.org\">www.Reprap.org<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.shapeoko.com\/\">www.Shapeoko.com<\/a> and a few Google+ groups. While most of the submissions showed how our <a href=\"http:\/\/us.misumi-ec.com\/vona2\/mech\/M1500000000\/M1501000000\/M1501010000\/\">Aluminum Extrusions<\/a> were used for making <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/media\/set\/?set=a.662055447175361.1073741829.188641267850117&amp;type=3\">3D printers &amp; CNC machines<\/a>, there were a few surprise submissions as well! For example, a Full Spectrum Laser Cutter using Misumi <a href=\"http:\/\/us.misumi-ec.com\/vona2\/mech\/M0100000000\/M0117000000\/M0117030000\/\">Linear Slide Guides<\/a>, a Cryptocurrency machine using clear anodized MISUMI\u00a0Aluminum Extrusions, and our contest winner, the Electric Go Kart!<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_274\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-274\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.misumiusa.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/Ben2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-274 size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.misumiusa.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/Ben2-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"Ben2\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/us.misumi-ec.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/Ben2-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/us.misumi-ec.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/Ben2.jpg 449w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-274\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Ben &#8211; Electric Go Kart using MISUMI parts<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Ben, our contest winner, used our Aluminum Extrusions, <a href=\"http:\/\/us.misumi-ec.com\/vona2\/mech\/M0100000000\/M0103000000\/\">Shaft Collars<\/a> and other MISUMI\u00a0Parts to create his Electric Go Kart. Ben was able to get\u00a0the go kartup to 22mph with sustained 15-16 mph speeds! Ben commented that, \u201cWith Misumi\u2019s extrusion I found the perfect combination of size, strength and weight that allowed me to design the go kart with modular spacing meaning that I could easily move the position of the steering wheel without disabling the rest of the go kart.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>We were so impressed with the ingenuity and cleverness of his design we asked Ben if we could share his design as a DIY Project!
