The components of this system\nare as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>Flat belt driven mechanism and belt\ntension adjustment mechanism<\/li><li>Motor torque transmission chain\nmechanism<\/li><li>Work positioning mechanism<\/li><li>Work detecting and drive controlling\nsensor system<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Some creativity has gone into the following points to develop a low-cost, assembly, adjustment, and maintenance-friendly automation system:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<table class=\"wp-block-table aligncenter is-style-regular\"><tbody><tr><td>   <strong>Design  Highlights<\/strong>   <\/td><td>   <strong>Design Goals<\/strong>   <\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Belt tension adjustment mechanism   <\/td><td>   Easy assembly, adjustment, maintenance, and cost reductions   <\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Bracket support for lower part of   conveyor   <\/td><td>\n  Cost reduction (welded structure)\n  <\/td><\/tr><tr><td>\n  Chain tension adjustment mechanism\n  <\/td><td>\n  Easy assembly, adjustment, and\n  maintenance\n  <\/td><\/tr><tr><td>\n  Selection of conveyed work\n  detection sensor\n  <\/td><td>\n  Selection of low-cost, reliable\n  sensor\n  <\/td><\/tr><tr><td>\n  Positioning pusher material\n  <\/td><td>\n  Maintenance-free design (material\n  selection), scratch prevention\n  <\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table>\n\n\n\n<p>Since rotation torque is transmitted using friction in a mechanism with a\nflat belt, the conveyor belt tension, the contact angle between the pulley and\nthe belt, and the friction coefficient are important design parameters. Specifically,\nthe belt tension is a factor directly affecting the force of friction, and an\ninappropriately adjusted belt frequently causes problems, such as meandering.\nTherefore, it is important to design a proper conveyor belt tension adjustment\nmechanism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The tension of the flat belt is generated by the tensile force from the two\nbarrel-like flat belt pulleys held by bearing holder sets pulled toward both\nends (see Photo 1). The design of the mechanism in which tension is placed on\nthe flat belt (conveyor) when the two flat belt pulleys are in parallel is a\nfeature of the conveyor belt tension adjustment mechanism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4>Construction of Conveyor Belt Tension Adjustment Mechanism<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Below is an enlarged view of the conveyor belt tension adjustment mechanism. Accordingly, a gear head induction motor with a reduction ratio of 60:1 is selected here as a driving power source.
