ELECTRONICS MANUFACTURERS IMPROVE PROCESS EFFICIENCY

The Standard Precision Positioning Stages combine streamlined functionality with precision levels acceptable for a great many automation-related applications - at prices 20 to 50 percent lower than typical high precision positioning devices.  They offer an effective and practical solution wherever there is a need to make small positioning adjustments in the assembly, inspection and processing instruments and jigs used in the production of consumer and industrial electronics. 

Properly installed, the stages allow fine adjustments in 0.01 mm increments. These adjustments can be performed quickly and easily, even by non-technical personnel, resulting in higher productivity and faster throughput with fewer errors - whatever the application or process.  For example, here is a representative sampling of MISUMI's Standard Precision Positioning Stage models and how they are being used in typical electronics manufacturing applications: 

• X-Axis Cross-Roller (XCRS)

Examples of use:

Adjust positioning of circuit boards entering thermal press fit unit; to adjust welding position product height sensors in inspection unit to weed out defects; to change stopper position easily when workpiece sizes and positions need to be changed in a conveying application.

• Z-Axis Cross-Roller Standard (ZCRS)

Examples of use:

Adjust tolerances in part placement and positioning, such as microsensors for press fit machining.

• XY-Axis Cross-Roller (XYCRS)

Examples of use:

Enable fine adjustment of contact points for contact probes in circuit board continuity inspection unit; or to change board positioning in circuit board screen printing press fit unit when the board pattern is changed.

• X-Axis Dovetail Slide Feed Screw (XFES)

Examples of use:

Adjust work support plates and guide work pieces for precise machine drilling of molded products.

• Z-Axis Dovetail Slide Rack & Pinion Stage (ZDTS)

Examples of use:

Optimally position work pieces on labeling machine conveyor belt in a packaging/shipping application.

• X-Axis Dovetail Slide Rack & Pinion (XDTS)

Examples of use:

Optimize reading position of adhesive-applied QR bar codes on circuit boards to improve readability and traceability; to adjust compression force of a round belt used on testing jig used to turn workpieces properly.

• X-Axis Dovetail Slide R&P Long (XDTLS)

Examples of use:

Used with sensor in semiconductor production to detect and control movement of ceramic green sheet and enable quick adjustment to a change in the sheet width; to adjust the pitch between the contact points on a contact probe conduction inspection device.
