IDEA NOTE What is the best way to transfer the workpiece to the discharging chute?

Install linear motion mechanism underneath the chute (linear actuator, linear guides) so that it can move into position to catch the workpiece and allow it to slide and discharge to the next work station.

IDEA NOTE Used both as a linear motion guide and as a stand.

A linear shaft is used as an up and down motion guide as well as a stand. Resulting in a reduction of the number of parts and total cost.

Purpose

  • Utilize linear motion components (linear actuator, linear guides) to move an incline chute allowing it to catch and discharge workpieces.
  • Suction cup picks up the workpiece, chute is moved into position below the workpiece. The workpiece is dropped on the chute and it slides down into the next workstation. Chute is moved out of the way, and the cycle repeats for the next workpiece.

  • Linear guide positioning is conducted with 2 rails and adjusted by blocks.
  • Although the up and down stroke is short, a cable carrier is used to secure the cable path.
