FAQ
- What is Rack and Pinion feed type?
- Rack & Pinion is a feed mechanism composed of a toothed rail called Rack and a gear wheel called Pinion. In the MISUMI product lineup, Rack & Pinion Dovetail Stage means “Fast Feeding” (Large Pitch) stages with 19mm travel per handle rotation.

- What is Push Screw feed type?
- It is a feed mechanism utilizing an adjustment screw.
The screw pushes against an opposing spring to move the stage which is effective in suppressing backlash, but has relatively low load capacity. - What is Feed Screw feed type?
- It is a feed type that uses correlation between male and female threads.
MISUMI feed screw stages are stages with a Fine Feed of 0.5-3.0mm travel per rotation. Allowable load is bigger than with Push Screw Type stages, so is the backlash.
- Do Simplified Stages have clamps?
- All stages come with clamps. However, please note that the Push Screw Types (XKNG, XYKNG, etc.) requires CL Alteration for Opposed Clamp Bolts.
- What mechanism is used for stage clamping?
- There are two basic types of clamps.
・ The Push Screw and the Clamp "sandwich" the stage to clamp. (Push Screw Stages and Opposed Clamp)
・ Feed screw shaft is directly clamped with a set screw. (Feed Screw Stages)
Each product page has drawings showing the clamp details.
